It’s one of my favourite places to stop in Japan — the dark wood interiors, the booth seating, and the sense that people are quite happy to sit and stay for a while.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"469\" data-end=\"672\"\u003eI settled into a booth and spent about an hour and a half drawing. The two women I focused on had been there just as long as I had, quietly talking and passing the time, which made them perfect subjects.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"801\"\u003eThe drawing is built up through loose, observational marks, trying to capture both the figures and the atmosphere of the space.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"803\" data-end=\"963\"\u003eI also ordered one of their Shiro buns.
