Advent treat day 5 - The Studio at Charleston
Advent treat day 5 - The Studio at Charleston
Built in 1925, the studio at Charleston was initially used by both Vanessa and Duncan. Vanessa later adapted an attic room into her studio, and Duncan used this one until his death in 1978. This is my favourite room. It has the most magical light - perfect for painting and drawing. You could spend hours in there and not run out of things to see. I was lucky to be allowed to sit and draw one morning and it has to go down as one of the best mornings of my life.

Sam Marshall
My name is Sam, I'm a printmaker working from my studio in rural Northamptonshire. I've recently left London after 22 years and am now enjoying the fresh air, open skies and wildlife of my new life in the country. Miss Marple my ever faithful mini dachshund loves it too!
When I'm not making work/ running workshops / coaching from my studio then I'm travelling around the UK and Europe with my sketchbook.
