A drawing made within the grounds of Futarasan Shrine in Nikkō, in a smaller courtyard area set just off to the side of the main complex. It’s a lively, layered space, with multiple small shrines and unexpected details, and a sense of people lingering and interacting with the surroundings. I spent a good stretch of time here drawing, enjoying both the energy of the place and the feeling of discovery.
