After Dark

This etching began with a series of drawings made on train journeys through Switzerland.

I spent hours watching the landscape shift through the window, mountains rising and falling, forests thickening, snow settling into quiet corners of the land. Every so often, a small hut would appear, tucked into the landscape as if it had always belonged there.

I made quick sketches on the move, trying to catch those fleeting glimpses before they disappeared again. This image has grown from one of those drawings, but also from memory and imagination. A place remembered rather than recorded.

For me, it holds that feeling of stillness. Of being somewhere remote, quiet, and completely absorbed in the landscape

It is a zinc plate etching measuring 7 x 10  cm. 
Each print is hand - pulled on my Gunning press and printed on Hahnemuhle 300g natural paper.
It is an edition of 100, signed and numbered in pencil on front
