This is one of my favourite rooms in the farmhouse. It feels like the real centre of the house. The seat to the left is where Vanessa always sat, she is said to have come down to the dining room in the morning to drink her coffee in peace before the rest of house awoke. Nearly every surface is painted and decorated - the table was decorated by Vanessa and Duncan, and the stencilled wallpaper in the dining room was painted by Duncan and two of Vanessa's children, Quentin and Angelica ( who was actually Duncan's daughter too)

My name is Sam, I'm a printmaker working from my studio in rural Northamptonshire. I moved back to the countryside after living in London for 22 years and I now enjoying the fresh air, open skies and wildlife of my life in the country. Miss Marple my ever faithful mini dachshund loves it too!
