In-person at my studio | 24 October 2026 | 10.30–4.30pm
Spend a day learning the fundamentals of zinc plate etching in my studio.
You’ll be guided through preparing your plate, drawing directly onto the surface, etching it using non-toxic etching salts, and printing your work on my etching press. We’ll focus on creating strong, expressive line and understanding the full process from plate to paper.
There may also be the opportunity to explore simple tonal techniques, depending on time, allowing you to experiment further and add depth to your image.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners or anyone wanting a refresher.
All materials provided — just bring your curiosity (and maybe an apron).
Tea, coffee and cake included.

INTRODUCING
Sam Marshall
My name is Sam, I'm a printmaker working from my studio in rural Northamptonshire. I've recently left London after 22 years and am now enjoying the fresh air, open skies and wildlife of my new life in the country. Miss Marple my ever faithful mini dachshund loves it too!
When I'm not making work/ running workshops / coaching from my studio then I'm travelling around the UK and Europe with my sketchbook.
