I saw this painting at the 'Portrait of Dogs' exhibition at the Wallace collection earlier in the year. I love George Stubbs paintings of dogs and I particularly enjoyed drawing this one. Stubbs worked for the 4th Duke of Rutland and was chosen to paint one of his favourite dogs, Turk , who was possibly a spitz-type breed. I really enjoyed drawing his wonderful thick fur.
