Whenever I am staying in hotels abroad I always seek out the local cats. During my stay in Lanzarote this was easy as there were a handful always by the beach and near the hotel. Dotted along the seafront were these little wooden boxes with cats faces on them, designed to feed the cats and provide them with water. All the cats were so healthy and well fed. When I walked along the seafront, I made sure I had my sketchbook in my bag so I could quickly sketch them as they appeared.

My name is Sam, I'm a printmaker working from my studio in rural Northamptonshire. I've recently left London after 22 years and am now enjoying the fresh air, open skies and wildlife of my new life in the country. Miss Marple my ever faithful mini dachshund loves it too!
When I'm not making work/ running workshops / coaching from my studio then I'm travelling around the UK and Europe with my sketchbook.
