2025 : L'Orto de'Pecci , Siena

This drawing was done in Siena, the day after the course ended. It was hot and busy in the city, and after wandering for a while, I went looking for some shade. I stumbled across L'Orto de' Pecci -  a peaceful green space tucked just below Piazza del Campo. It felt like such a gift to find somewhere so calm after the crowds. I sat under a tree and drew this view of the olive grove and the warm, terracotta buildings beyond. It was the end of the day and everything had softened. I think that’s why this has become one of my favourite drawings from the trip -  I loved drawing the shapes of the olive trees, each one slightly different, their silvery leaves catching the light.

Each print is the same size as the original sketchbook page. You can choose whether to include the sketchbook seam or not when ordering. Larger prints (25 x 21 cm) are £35, and smaller ones (23 x 12 cm or 17 x 14 cm) are £30. All prints are made on archival-quality Hahnemühle Fine Art paper.
