Kiwi bird
Kiwi bird
I often ask my friends for suggestions of interesting and unusual birds/ animals to use in my prints and one friend suggested a Kiwi bird. Having visited New Zealand many years ago, I knew how much love there is for these birds in the country. After doing some research and lots of drawing, I embarked on this etching. One day I will revisit New Zealand and hope to see one in real life.
It is a zinc plate etching measuring 12 x 10cm.
Each print is hand - pulled on my Gunning press and printed on Hahnemuhle 300g natural paper.
It is an edition of 65, signed and numbered in pencil on front

My name is Sam, I'm a printmaker working from my studio in rural Northamptonshire. I've recently left London after 22 years and am now enjoying the fresh air, open skies and wildlife of my new life in the country. Miss Marple my ever faithful mini dachshund loves it too!
When I'm not making work/ running workshops / coaching from my studio then I'm travelling around the UK and Europe with my sketchbook.
