In our hotel, the Princesa Yaiza, there was an incredible indoor garden full of cacti and succulents. I spent many hours there during my stay, reading, drawing and just enjoying the peace and quiet. This is the first drawing done in my large sketchbook. It took around 2 hours to complete.

My name is Sam, I'm a printmaker working from my studio in rural Northamptonshire. I've recently left London after 22 years and am now enjoying the fresh air, open skies and wildlife of my new life in the country. Miss Marple my ever faithful mini dachshund loves it too!
