Matsumoto was on my list of places to visit during this second trip to Japan. It's the birthplace of one of my favourite artists - Yayoi Kusama and they have a museum that showcases much of her work. On my first day, I headed straight to the magnificent Matsumuto castle, with its  black walls and its imposing silhouette - one of the grandest castles in Japan. Its five-tiered, six-story main tower, built in late 16th century, is the oldest surviving castle tower in the nation. I found a spot amongst the cherry trees and did this little drawing.

This replica drawing from my sketchbook can be purchased with or without the seam of the sketchbook visible. Please select your preference.

Your print of my drawing will be the same size as the page in my sketchbook. The larger ones are for £35 are 25cm x 21cm and the smaller ones for £30 are 23cm x 12cm or 17cm x 14cm . It will be printed on archival high quality Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper.
