2025: Sainokawara Park foot baths, Kusatsu Onsen

This was the second drawing I made in Sainokawara Park, after enjoying my own soak in the hot baths. The park has a lovely foot bath area where visitors can sit and relax in the warm water. After my bath, I wandered back and stopped to draw this scene.

I was drawn to the mix of figures, all sitting quietly with their feet in the water, framed by the trees and rocks. The drawing is full of layered marks, echoing the textures of the forest and the movement of people coming and going. It was a peaceful moment to observe and sketch, and this drawing holds the sense of calm that runs through the town

Each print is the same size as the original sketchbook page. You can choose whether to include the sketchbook seam or not when ordering. Larger prints (25 x 21 cm) are £35, and smaller ones (23 x 12 cm or 17 x 14 cm) are £30. All prints are made on archival-quality Hahnemühle Fine Art paper.
