2025 : Botanical Garden, Rome

This was the final drawing I made in Italy, on my last day in Rome. The heat was unbearable, and I’d underestimated how crowded the streets would be thanks to the final stage of the Giro d’Italia racing through the city - they’d just finished stage 21, a celebration that began in the Vatican Gardens and ended in Rome on June 1 . I walked to the botanical garden from my hotel, even though I probably should’ve stayed closer. Once there, I sat down to sketch while listening to an audiobook and watching people seek shade under the palms. The chaos outside felt miles away, and this turned into one of my favourite drawings from the whole trip.

Each print is the same size as the original sketchbook page. You can choose whether to include the sketchbook seam or not when ordering. Larger prints (25 x 21 cm) are £35, and smaller ones (23 x 12 cm or 17 x 14 cm) are £30. All prints are made on archival-quality Hahnemühle Fine Art paper.
