Sorolla's Garden

Joaquín Sorolla is a much loved Spanish painter, and many people recommended that I visit the Sorolla Museum during my trip to Madrid. I'm so pleased I did as the museum was an absolute delight. The museum is actually his old house and it was fascinating to see the paintings in situ, where they would have been displayed during his life. The small garden at the front of the house was absolutely beautiful , the soft yellow walls were glowing in the autumn light. I spent a wonderful couple of hours drawing there. As is often the case, people ask to take my photo whilst I'm drawing. I always agree and ask if they would take one for me too, you can see me drawing in the following photo.
