The Night Forager

The Mini Cuts are an ongoing series of small linocuts that began during a particularly challenging summer, for all sorts of emotional and circumstantial reasons. I wanted to make something that felt small and manageable, without too much expectation attached to it, and to simply let my imagination wander.

Night Forager belongs to the quieter hours. A peculiar little creature, part familiar and part imagined, he ventures out when everything else has settled, making his way through the landscape in search of whatever the night might offer.

The creatures also appear in a series of small etchings. In the Mini Cuts they inhabit their own imagined worlds, while in the etchings everything else falls away and the creatures appear alone.

Each print is signed and individually hand-pulled on my Ironbridge etching press, Yumi.
