This etching is inspired by a walk in Lincolnshire in the summer. I stumbled across what looked like an old deserted mill which had smoke mysteriously coming out of the chimney, I stopped to do a sketch then meandered on. I then walked into what I can only assume was a swarm of honey bees clustering around a tree.
When I got back to the studio I combined all of these sightings into this etching.
It is a zinc plate etching measuring 12 x 12 cm. Each print is hand - pulled on a Rochat press and printed on Hahnemuhle 300g natural paper.

My name is Sam, I'm a printmaker working from my studio in rural Northamptonshire. I've recently left London after 22 years and am now enjoying the fresh air, open skies and wildlife of my new life in the country. Miss Marple my ever faithful mini dachshund loves it too!
When I'm not making work/ running workshops / coaching from my studio then I'm travelling around the UK and Europe with my sketchbook.
