When I'm drawing for the day , I often tackle the busier places in the morning and then find somewhere quieter to draw in the afternoon. This was the case during my day in Nara. I spent the morning drawing in amongst the crowds at Todaiji temple, then took a walk in the afternoon and discovered this magnificent temple. Nara is famous for it's deer as they are abundant everywhere, it was fortuitous that one walked into the scene as I was drawing the temple - you can see him on the left hand side.
