This is my friend Micki Schloessingk’s house in the Gower, Wales. Micki is a wonderfully talented potter, and we met quite by chance during my first trip to Japan. We’ve stayed friends ever since, and I love visiting her studio and beautiful home on the Gower Peninsula.
One of my favourite things about her house is the incredible high washing line she made herself - it’s always a joy to see clothes and linens drying up high, fluttering in the breeze. I’d been wanting to draw it for a while, and on my most recent visit, the sun finally shone. One morning, I took the chance to capture the bright blocks of hanging washing while Marple relaxed by my side in the sunshine.
Each print is the same size as the original sketchbook page. You can choose whether to include the sketchbook seam or not when ordering. Larger prints (25 x 21 cm) are £35, and smaller ones (23 x 12 cm or 17 x 14 cm) are £30. All prints are made on archival-quality Hahnemühle Fine Art paper.

INTRODUCING
Sam Marshall

My name is Sam, I'm a printmaker working from my studio in rural Northamptonshire. I've recently left London after 22 years and am now enjoying the fresh air, open skies and wildlife of my new life in the country. Miss Marple my ever faithful mini dachshund loves it too!
When I'm not making work/ running workshops / coaching from my studio then I'm travelling around the UK and Europe with my sketchbook.
